Monthly Archives: February 2016

Next week we will be learning all about crocodiles. Our two main books will be ‘The Selfish Crocodile’ and ‘The Enormous Crocodile’, along with additional information found in age-appropriate information books. We will all be designing and creating an information leaflet about crocodiles and writing sentences about our very own made up one. It would be really useful if you could look at some pictures of crocodiles and talk about them with your child before next week.
We will be learning all about weight and how to weigh using scales. We will be finding out that just because something is bigger it doesn’t mean it is heavier, e.g. a large bag of cotton wool is lighter than a small rock. If you could do some weight investigations of your very own at home, that would be really great. Why not take a photo and email them to the school’s email address? Thank you to all those parents who have contributed in this way already.
Thursday 3rd March is World Book Day and we are asking your child to come dressed up in any book character of their choice. Please remember that your child may still be working outside (weather permitting) and a coat and hat as usual are completely necessary!
We will be hosting a special KS1 MOTHER’S DAY celebration assembly on Friday 4th March at 2pm. There will be cakes and a cuppa available afterwards, so please come along and support your child and watch them sing for you! The assembly is not just for Mums but for Dads, Grandparents, Aunties, Uncles, siblings…..everyone is welcome!
Thank you for your continued support and we hope you have a lovely week-end,
