Mrs Bate’s letter 25/09/15

We are so proud of our Reception class who sat and listened so diligently during their very first assembly today. We learnt all about the Bible story of Samuel and watched as Hope Church acted out the story before our very eyes!
Thank you to all who supported our McMillan Coffee and cakes event this afternoon. We sold all our chocolate covered apples and made a lot of money to go towards helping the dedicated nurses in their vital work.
Next week we will be learning how to say and write the sounds s and t, as well as the number 3. Our theme will be Baptism and we hope to visit our Church to find out all about this very special day, as well as meet Rector John and act out our very own baptism, using a doll. How exciting!
Thank you to all of you who are reading every night and learning the sounds in our sound boxes daily. We will endeavour to hear your child read twice a week in school and change their book / add more sounds to the boxes (as and when needed) then. We are really pleased with the progress the children are making – keep up the good work! Your support is so very important to the progress of your child.

We hope you have a lovely week end and we will see you all on Monday,
Mrs Bate, Mrs Lyon and Mrs Brown
